What have I done?!

After teaching for 8 years, and kid rearing for 6 of those at the same time, I decided to apply for study leave.

Here is where my journey begins... the following are snippets of my thought process and critical incidents that lead me here.

  • Study leave denied
  • Work place politics overload
  • Paychecks matter more than students to some leaders
  • No value put in staff wellbeing
  • Went back to work when my son was 8 weeks old
  • Parental guilt
  • My baby is starting Primary school
  • Where have I been this whole time?
  • I want to help kids in a way that is outside of the classroom
  • I need a creative outlet
  • This workplace is killing my soul
  • I need to resign
  • Apply for online course
  • Got in!!
  • Resignation letter delivered
  • Ignored by my Leading Teacher ever since
  • Feeling used up and spat out

So at the end of 2013 I ditched my ongoing teaching job to pursue my Masters of Education (Teacher-librarianship).

This blog is going to be where I start my professional digital citizenship, brain dumping along the way, hopefully resulting in a few useful bits and bobs for fellow Educators and the like.

Enjoy :)
